The Fall Feast
Category: Project, Story | Leave a Comment
The Master did it again. Matt transformed the house to the medieval times, built a tent in the living room, “grew” real grass in the hall way, and put together the entire fall feast. He even MADE HIS VERY OWN royal costume and mine all BY HIMSELF. Our guests arrived in style, fancy costumes, exotic hairdos, and ostentatious accessories. We drank, we ate, we talked, we laughed. It was great fun. For our friends who were unable to fly to Washington to attend the feast, here is some of the Kodak moment…
The King. The one and only. I give you - MATT!!!

The King and Queen

The King, itty bit of Callie the royal dog, and Enya???

Honorable Guests

The Feast

It only took me three hours to clean up the table and the kitchen the next day. It took days for the KING to take down the decorations and restore the house back to its original state. Poor King.

We are the 3 Spice Geishas.
I am the most demure.
Our nephew, John, in the center, is the most sensuous.
Well, somebody has to be the scary one - Matt.

“How does my hair look?”
“Fabulous! Try not to shake your head too much. I ain’t fixing your hair all night.”
It brought back painful memories…
… 20 years ago, my family was so very poor. My father was a drunk and gambled away all my mom’s savings. One day, my mother couldn’t take it any more and went crazy. All my brothers and sisters were still very little. The responsibility to support the family fell on me. I vowed to be a successful geisha one day so my brothers and sisters could go to school.
… 20 years later, I am famous and can do simple math with my fingers and toes, but all my brothers and sisters are college graduates.
… and no, he’s not my customer.

It’s all about loosing weight

I thought we were going to T J Maxx for Matt’s new project at work. He undertook the huge responsibility to construct two pinatas to play at work. When we got there, he headed towards the housewares section immediately. I was wondering what he could find there for the pinatas, but I didn’t ask. His creativity cannot be questioned. He made the impossible possible right before your eyes.
I walked towards the menswear. I was on a mission to find my Jerzees t-shirts. After hours of searching, I gave up as I was ready to throw myself in front of a bus. I walked to the housewares section. He had several items in the cart but none of them was for the pinatas.
“How are you going to put the picture frames and the plant stand in the pinatas?”
“We are not here for that. We are here to get the plant stand. I want to put it on the landing so we have flowers this winter.”
5 hours later…
“Why is this thing here?”
“I told you I’d put the plant here as it gets the afternoon sun. We’ll have flowers blooming all winter.”
“There’s not much room left for me to get by. My big ass will knock everything over.”
For Matt, the flowers make him happy. For me, it’s all about loosing weight so I can get by without causing an earthquake.
